It
all happened at the Radio Algoa
/ EP Herald On-the-go-show in 1995 when Brad and Darren won the best
original song and Duo category, directly after the show they joined
drummer Gino and Chris on bass to record their 1st demo. The demo was really well received
by the PE public after being playlisted on Radio Algoa. Lady stayed at the top
of the voteline charts for 3 weeks. In 1996 the band entered the Eastern Cape
Brookes Hill Original Music Competition and won.

They worked diligently and produced a debut CD
titled Still

Eminent Child
are considered to be the top band in the Eastern Cape at present and enjoy a large
following in Port Elizabeth, East London and the Border/East Cape region they are
presently making headway nationally and the new album is ready to record.

The
Demo has recently been recorded at Paris Studios in Cape Town, 4 songs that show what's
been happening during the last 2 years - the band has matured a lot and the demo has set
the standard for the forthcoming album. Eminent Child is now looking for the right deal
from a company who can market their music nationally and in the future; internationally!
"The band has grown a lot since the first album (2 years on now) and the new stuff,
we feel, is grittier, tighter and a whole lot better!" |
